by Lynn Paringer, Ph.D.and Nan Maxwell, Ph.D.
Professors of Economics,
California State University, East Bay

A CPAC funded study assessed the erosion of employment-based health insurance for low-skilled and low-wage workers. The study also analyzed the reasons some firms chose not to offer medical coverage, and the impact that not offering benefits had on a firm's workforce.

The study's co-authors, Professors Paringer and Maxwell, presented their research findings and policy recommendations at a CPAC-sponsored Sacramento briefing session held August 23, 2007.
